Lubawa and Miranda among the Sponsors of the 5th Commando Half Marathon in Warsaw

The Half Marathon organised by the Military University of Technology (WAT) proved to be a challenge for the record-breaking number of 220 participants who met at the start-line of the competition to win the Rector – the Commander of WAT – Cup. Among the runners there were mainly representatives of the uniformed services – the army, the police, the Government Security Bureau (BOR), Fire Departments and Medical Services, as well as civilians. Lubawa and Miranda, the companies comprising the Lubawa Group, were among the sponsors of the event.

The back-breaking marathon took place on 8 February 2014 at the training ground of the Military University of Technology (WAT) in Warsaw. The participants struggled with unfavourable conditions on the route, wading across ankle-deep slush, breaking through a route full of obstacles to the finish line in uniforms with a burden weighting more than 10 kilograms.

The Lubawa and Miranda companies were among the sponsors of the competition for the Cup of the WAT Rector. The 5th edition of the Commando Half Marathon allows for preparing thoroughly for the Commando Marathon in Lubliniec. The nature of both competitions is specific and only the best prepared dare to take part in them. The WAT students along with the private soldiers as well as generals begin the marathon as equal participants.

The winner of the 5th Commando Half Marathon was Lt Piotr Bartoszewski from the 16th Airborne Battalion.
