What are lining knits and what are they used for?

Lining knits are technical fabrics of light or medium weight, used as an inner layer in military, tactical and uniformed services clothing. The main advantages of these fabrics are comfort, excellent breathability and durability under intensive use. In its range, Miranda Textiles offers lining knits made of high-quality polyester (PES), polyamide (PA) and recycled PES, complying with stringent design and quality standards. These modern materials provide the foundation for well-designed garments – including linings, pockets and innovative ventilation panels.

Applications of knitted fabrics in military and tactical clothing

Lining knits are used as linings in jackets, vests and suits, ensuring comfort and stabilising the layers. They are ideal for pockets and compartments where lightness and durability are required. In clothing for tropical conditions, mesh ventilation panels and mosquito-net elements are utilised. Knitted fabrics with Hi-Vis technology are used in clothing for security services, whilst versions with IRR are used in compact tactical jackets. On the other hand, eco-friendly lining knits made from recycled PES are used in eco-conscious clothing ranges.

Types of lining knits – mesh, openwork and others
