Honeycomb pleated fabrics from Miranda Textiles are high-tech materials which combine style, lightness and excellent thermal insulation thanks to their honeycomb structure. They are made from two or more layers of fabric bonded together to form air chambers, which helps maintain the lightweight structure and maximises protection against the interior heating up. The range includes blackout versions providing 100% light blockout with a pearl coating that reflects sunlight, as well as transparent variants that gently diffuse light, creating a pleasant atmosphere indoors.

What are honeycomb pleated fabrics – the honeycomb structure and layers of fabric

The honeycomb structure is created by a special pleating technique in which the fabric forms geometric air chambers – usually hexagonal or diamond-shaped. This creates a double layer of fabric that retains heat more effectively and provides better sunlight protection. In the case of blackout honeycomb versions, the fabric has an inner layer with a pearl coating and a white back, which ensures high light reflectance and a uniform appearance from the outside. Transparent versions are lighter in construction but still retain the honeycomb design and harmonious pleats.
