What are laminated fabrics and why are they a good choice?

Laminated fabrics are multi-layered materials – a combination of woven or knitted fabric with a functional film (PU, PVC, TPU) or additional layers. As a result, they gain special functional properties, such as water resistance, increased resistance to abrasion and laser cutting, as well as protection against biological agents. Laminated fabrics are the ideal solution for tactical, outdoor and ballistic applications, which must be highly functional and durable.

Enhanced resistance of laminated fabrics – water, abrasion, laser cutting

Laminates provide enhanced protection against water ingress and are also resistant to abrasion and wear. Their stable structure allows for precise laser cutting – without shredding and requiring edge finishing. Laminated fabrics are ideal for equipment components that must be durable, watertight and lightweight – for example, MOLLE systems, rucksack panels and dry bags.

Laminated fabrics – PU, PVC and TPU coatings and functionality

PU coatings provide excellent protection against moisture and abrasion without significantly increasing the weight of the material. PVC provides even greater waterproofing and chemical resistance, while TPU combines this durability with flexibility and resistance to low temperatures. Laminated fabrics coated with these layers acquire the properties that are essential for intensive use in all conditions – rain, mud, sun or cold.
